Lee4Life Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It's interesting that they confiscated the lumber and logs before completing the investigation...I would guess they were worried they might just "disappear" during the investigation. By the way, I think you guys must be awful board to be making so many punny jokes
Luger2 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) The same family party anyway : CHIANG MAI, 30 May 2014 (NNT) - Soldiers confiscated a huge lot of 41 teak logs and 2,000 - 3,000 processed teak planks kept on a piece of land belonging to a former Chiang Mai MP, at the Chiang Mai Green Valley housing estate in Mae Rim District And yesterday RT @tulsathit: Illegal logs seized in Mae Hong Son and allegedly linked to ex-Pheu Thai head Jarupong. As is often the case with internet searches you find something else. This time some deal to buy Russian jet fighters in return for chickens from what I could tell. I decided I'd found out enough then. Illegal logging recipient and Thaksin's manly sister Monthathip Shinawatra and her husband were just done in last week for illegal insider stock trading. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/sec-fines-thaksins-sister-insider-trading/ Edited May 30, 2014 by Luger2 1

ikke Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 it was the maid or the gardener... Edit correction It was Suthep he planted the logs...he is a fascist you know... No, it was not Suthep, and No, I don't agree with any wrongdoing and/or corruption of the Thaksins, but Suthep stays a Fascist.

Now that the PTP protection is gone its open season on them and I think most people will agree its not a bad thing when corrupt officials are punished and caught even if they are on their side. edwardandtubs Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Probably these allegations of illegal logging are true, but if the army is acting it's only to protect their own monopoly of the illegal logging trade. 1
marko kok prong Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 The Shins really are something else. All that money and it's still not enough. Yes,it's got so they can't see the wood for the trees.

Piichai Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Military officers from the 7th Infantry Division and Forestry Officials from the Forest Protection and Fire Prevention Unit inspected house number 39/99 of Wiang Pink Villa housing estate, in Doi Saket's Talad Kwan subdistrict, belonging to Monthathip Kowitcharoenkul, a sister of self-exiled ex-premier Thaksin, after being tipped off. And didn't they also find logs at Yaowapha's just yesterday? Sounds like a family affair. Thai news reports logs found on the property of a prominent Red leader (initial J), but can't recall it being posted on TVF yet. Edited May 30, 2014 by Piichai

I know I would not shed a tear for any corrupt official on my side. Suthep was certainly a rascal before he turned saintly activist but most of the corruption during the Abhisit government, which was admittedly out of control, was from Bhum Jai Thai and Chart Thai Pattana ministers in the Democrat led coalition. Abhisit was forced to give them the most lucrative ministries like Interior, Transport and Agriculture to get enough votes to form a government. After that they were allowed to do as they pleased in their ministries which was disgusting. Chart Thai Pattana was in the Yingluck coalition too and Bhum Jai Thai was trying to get into it too and often voted alongside. So there wasn't anyone to go after most of the corrupt politicians in the Abhisit government. 4

Dogmatix Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 None of the logs in the photographs look as if taken from old teak houses as claimed. They all look freshly cut. Let's hope the dirtbags who are destroying the environment for personal gain get banged up for many years.

Piichai Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Don't need to say Suthep planted it. Just say it is fake wood, or pretend it didn't happen. Maybe doubt the source or demand written unattainable proof in the form of police reports on TVF until they believe it. Maybe ignore this and google something Suthep or Ahbisit did to defend these actions. Maybe. Oh, they have a plethitude of excuses. When people say the thaksins are criminals there is a "grain" of truth in that. I am glad all of these Shin's crimes are coming out of the wood work though! They should arrests Thaksins sister for Treezun. I wonder if thaksins son, "Oak", needs to be investigated too? Fake wood grown by the fake farmers?

T_Dog Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 When a tree falls in the woods, I guess no one hears it unless politics is involved. I run into logging all the time mountain biking in the forests. The crews are normally not very friendly for some reason so I don't hang around. They normally have portable sawmills and mill the timber as soon as it is cut.
