Triple Entry Visa Solution?

Featured Replies

Hello wise minds of the Thai Visa Forum,

I have a visa question and haven't received an answer from the Consulate so I am turning to the experienced travelers and expats on this forum.

I'm traveling to Thailand this summer from the US. I have lived in Bangkok twice previously (2010 and 2012). I am 27 years old. The Thai Consulate website for LA (the consulate I go to), states that only a double-entry tourist visa is available, not a triple-entry, which is what I used to get (http://www.thaiconsulatela.org/service_visa.aspx). My travel itinerary is as follows:

Thailand Jun 25 - Sep 3

with time in

Kuala Lumpur Jun 27 - Jul 2

Seoul Jul 31 - Aug 4

On previous trips my solution was to get a triple-entry visa so that I could leave and return twice, which worked perfectly. What is the best way to handle this situation?

Note: I need to fly into BKK, so going directly to KL at the beginning of my trip is not an option, but my trip to Seoul can be shifted a bit if that will help my situation.

Any help you can provide will be a great help. Thanks!

If you can't get a triple in LA you might get one at one of the Honorary Consulates. Contact Mary in Portland by phone:Visa application porcedures, Portland Oregon.doc.

A double would work fine also. You would just have to purchase a single entry reentry permit, 1000 baht, for your last trip. You can get the reentry permit at the airport when you fly out.

Even a single would even work with one 30 day extension, 1900 baht, and two single entry re-entry permits, 1000 baht each.

The costs are about the same but the triple is less hassle!

It is the same as doing them at an immigration office. You apply at the re-entry permit desk on departure.

At Suv they charge an extra 200 baht because they will do the photo, form and copies for you.

And this is 24/7 and can be used on a 30 day visa extension after using a 60 days of a double entry.I'm a USA citizen.

The re-entry permit desks at both airports in Bangkok are open 24 hours a day.

You can get a re-entry permit for the permit to stay the 30 day extension will give you. It adds no additional time.

Why does he need to apply for a visa?

He is going to be in Thailand the following periods:

Jun 25 - 27

Jul 2 - 31

Aug 4 - Sep 3 (Maybe 31 days)

Just stay in Seoul 1 extra day and you are never in the country more than 30 days and can just use the visa exempt entry.
