Hi All,

I'm hoping to move to Thailand next year to retire, my question is I will be living between Korat and Jomtien and wonder what immigration office I should use to extend my permission to stay and were I should do the 90 day reporting or does it not matter.

Any help would be most welcome thanks in advance

You have to do it at the office responsible for the Province that you live in! You didn't state which Province only "between Korat and Jomtien" so until you do no one can tell you!

Sorry did not make myself very clear I will live in Jomtien for about 4 to 6 months of the year and Korat for the rest of the year, so would it be the office I first get my extension of stay would have to report there all the time, so if its Jomtien then all my extension of stay and 90 day reporting from there or could it also be done from Korat

You could either do it at the office where you get your first extension of stay, keeping that address on all paperwork, or file a TM28 form when you move to the other location (supposedly required) and do you extensions and reports at the office responsible for the changed location. There is no charge for filing the TM28 form. The second option is the "legal" way to do it!

When I changed locations I never filed the form, I just stated doing my extensions and reports at the new office putting the correct address on the form.

You could do the extension at either location.

It is possible to make 90 day reports at another office but you need an address to put on the TM47 form for the area

where you are making the report. You might also need to have proof of that address.

You could also do your reports by mail. The last reports I can recall is that Korat immigration does not accept mail in reports but Jomtien does.
