US: Woman who drove with man stuck in windscreen gets 55 years

Featured Replies

Is there no 'Constitutional Right' for an American to drive with a pedestrian 'embedded in the car's windscreen'? Even in California?

Not necessary. The pedestrian has become a passenger.

Then he could get done for not wearing a seat belt.

Can you imagine an outcome like this in Thailand? Have you ever heard of a 55 year sentence here?

Yes, many times.

Usually for drugs or in some instances child sex abuse.

Many people sitting in the Bangkok Hilton doing 99 yr sentences.

Wasn't some policeman given a long sentence for stealing money from the police? It was suggested that it was tea money but I don't know if that was true.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Apparently she didn't know he needed medical attention? Perhaps she thought he was just having a lie down in her windscreen?

No if she had shot the guy in "self defense", she would have walked.....

No firearm was used. "If", in this instance does not exist in the California Penal Code. It's available on-line should one wish to educate themselves.
