Its good that all the views, whether in support or against can be aired. My view hasn't changed regarding capital punishment in our modern world but some of your comments certainly got me thinking. There are some people who commit crimes so heinous, they shouldn't be allowed to continue breathing oxygen on this planet. As far as "your gun fixation from the days of the wild west." Being allowed to possess a firearm has nothing to do with being fixated with guns or the wild west. I wonder what the world would look like if America didn't exist. Would you be from Great Britain? Yes or no, would you consider Great Britain "civilized"? You are aware that for several years Great Britain has been handing out capital punishment without the benefit of a trial? Great Britain flies US made stealth drones over Afghanistan and kills people by surprise with high tech missiles. Yes they do. For several years they have. If it can be done from 50,000 feet, the killer has clean hands I guess. Just don't go sticking needles in anyone or you become uncivilized. A 2011 survey in the UK showed 65% in favor of restoring the death penalty and 28% opposed. So don't be too anxious to think Brits are all against the death penalty. Many would like to see it restored where guilt is undoubted (like the two who murdered the Royal Fusilier in London). Many, many Brits are envious of your second amendment too. Britain has some of the most repressive gun and knife laws around.
