Visa note:

The total duration of stay in Thailand for visitors who enter Thailand without a visa cannot exceed 90 days during any six-month period, counting from the date of first entry.

Info from:

plucked from their website 18-06-2014

My guess this is still a ruling

Any info available that reflect the opposite ?

I know many people that have stayed more than 90 days during a 6 month period

That is old information, the 6 month rule was discarded years ago.

Unfortunately it is still in the IATA database as a rule. Guess they didn't read the memo.

sadly, but it seems that not only IATA is thinking that this was discarded years ago..

It also was mentioned at the start of the crackdown from the back-to-back exempt from visa stayers ( immigration officials )

so we need no BS info on this topic

i can't find any rule that states otherwise

The discarding was maybe only for those with an tourist visa ?

now they state for those without visa... ( exempts ?)

Police order 778/2551 eliminated the 90 days in 6 months rule for visa exempt entry and initiated the 15 days at border crossings. See: policy778-2551_en.pdf

There has never been any restriction for tourist visas entries of any kind.

90 days in 6 months was always only for visa exempt and visa on arrival, not for people with a genuine visa such as a tourist visa.

Per document shown by Ubonjoe the rule was recinded. Problem is that the actual police order was not withdrawn and is still valid, but only part of the police order (the part about the 90 day in 6 month rule) was retracted. Many people, including IATA, missed out on that and think the whole document is still in effect.

@ Ubonjoe

Ok, that document clarify's the "situation"

devils advocate dough:

do there exist more police orders after the order you submitted ?

None that apply to visa exempt entries.

None that apply to visa exempt entries.

and about tourist visa's ?

Its always one thing the actual law's on paper, and on the other hand the enforcement or the implementations...

The only thing done by police orders for tourist visas is the 30 day extensions and that has not changed in a very long time.

The issuance of tourist visa is under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and nothing has changed for them either.
