They have evidence, so likely they know who is involved in some of the cases, all they need is to round up a few of them and make them squeal, which they certainly will do, and I hope it ends in an almighty domino topple and leads right to the door of the UDD leaders.

We all know that they have been implicit in all these murders, and we also know on who's word.

Let's all hope that as I suspect, the names Jatuporn. Thida, Nattawut, Surapong and Chalerm come out in the wash... The biggest bonus names will be Thaksin and Yingluck.

The UDD is deffo going to become an outlawed organization, and I doubt they will be able to just reinvent themselves under a new name.

Would also be nice if certain police are named as being involved in both the actions taking place and the cover ups and who ordered the investigations to be stifled.

The 'red shirts' are coming to their end.

SCUM!!!!!

The bbc's Jonathan head seems to think not, articles a bit old but it gets the point a x http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-27735992

I just read the article. And indeed, the reporter neither comes to the conclusion that the red shirts are at their end nor that they are scum (nor anything else for that matter). Nevertheless, yellow shirt supporters can read the article with joy. He describes the current situation, which is obviously not very promising for the foreseeable future. So, reading the article will contribute to the party you're having right now. Have fun!

Well, knock me down with a feather!

As for Jonathan Head - he should have known, and he should know now, that it is the job of a good foreign correspondent to report events accurately as they happen, and not as he / she would wish them to happen.

"He is also sending a warning to the secretive armed "red shirt" militants, whom the PDRC blames for the latest attack. These militants are not commanded by the mainstream red shirt movement, which has restrained its followers from any clashes with the PDRC.

It is the prospect of an armed response by these militants, thought to number several thousand, which has helped deter even army hardliners from intervening up to now, along with the fear that they would be left in charge of a mess."

JH is actually one of the few foreign correspondents who has sources within the militant red shirt wing. I haven't seen any others actually pin the blame on the red shirts. The only thing inaccurate about Jonathan's reporting is that the militants number "several thousand". Clearly it is unlikely to be that many. And they were not under the control of the UDD, but linked to peripheral figures - former generals associated with Thaksin direct the operations whilst certain MPs & local people of "influence" are often used to pass funding on... no different to 2010.

Well we now know who the infamous "THIRD HAND" that Chalerm liked to claim would cause conflict are!

Speaking of him, has anyone seen any news of his whereabouts?

Because the military is purging the political opposition, the Thai police all of a sudden have the links one of the parties the military is purging. Preposterous display of cronyism, corruption, and abuse of power.

If they know they're UDD scumbags, why not arrest them now?

Hopefully going after who ordered & funded the hits versus just arresting the hitmen now.

Then they have to go all the way to Dubai.

They have links. The army has links. No one can have a link, but the Thai army can have many links.

What the hell does that mean, Redshirt?

But....but....but...Suthep!

Are you talking about PTP?

I expect all they have to do is threaten to withhold his ear medicine and he sings like a canary.

He did get quite good at predicting what would happen.

As we haven't seen or heard from him for a while he could just be explaining to the relevant authorities how he was able to make his predictions, as in helping with the inquiries.

If that is the case it could explain why he needs to be in protective custody for there could be those who would resent any new predictions he may make.

I think you'll find Chalerm wasn't predicting anything . . . he was giving orders and suggestions . . . and I won't be at all surprised to see both PTP and UDD disbanded and all members barred from Politics once this is all cleared up.

"were in the process of going after them."

What a JOKE

well all they have to do is watch the airports and border crossings if they haven't left already - I suspect this trail will lead right back into the Government - knowing about it for me is as good as a sanction and approval

and on that note - anyone seen or heard about Charlerm

The article reveals (unwittingly) the failure of the Red Shirt movement as a vehicle for social progress, it's portrayed as the political awakening of the poor, but the truth is, without their "leaders" telling them what to do they are very much asleep. That, I think, is not accidental or unintended.

Here's something to ponder about:

"If the people are not educated, if their rights are not explained, if every man does not know his own worth, what he is capable of and what is owed to him, new illusions will succeed the old ones, and after faltering for some time amid a thousand uncertainties, it may come to be that our fortune will be to replace tyrants without destroying tyranny."

Prologue of Mariano Moreno to Rousseau's "The Social Contract"

The police should seek a good PR Company or just keep quiet. This type of nebulous, non-definitive and weak statements make them look foolish in the public eye. Here is a tip - Don't say anything until it is done and then make a clear and strong announcement on how well the arrests were executed.

Actions speak louder than words.... I'd rather read of arrests made with evidence and see those accused rounded up and put in jail to await trial.

It clearly shows the leaders care more about their own safety as the movement. Before they sid not worry much but now there is risk in it for them and no money to be made.

I am happy the reds are auch mercenary cowards as the last thing I want is civil war.
