This is one of those rumours that have been circulating over the years, probably started by someone or people who try to demean Thailand for whatever reasons.

oh yeah that certainly a myth like all these stories about cop abducting people for ransom....

.....until you read in the press that effectively italians tourist were abducted by thonglor police and were asked few millions baht, few months ago,

or this american few years ago.

people claiming this is a lie, are actually the one that spreading BS on this forum...

In this country, anything is possible.

Even if this is true, that I doubt very much, the police wouldn't dare to get involved in these kind of scams, nowadays, that the army, keeps a sharp eye on them.thumbsup.gif

I don't like the phrase but in this case it fits, "Dude you really have drunk the Kool-Aid."

It's easy enough for the cops to just put the pills there themselves, if they want to, without involving the petrol pump attendant.

The version I heard was sugar slipped in your petrol tank while filling up on the highway. Then after you have broken down some thugs drop by and rob you.
