thaiflyer1 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Need recommendations for somebody who can build me a "built" in kitchen, anybody had one made that can point me in the right direction. (Checked the housing forum but no joy) Cheers.
CGW Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 How much do you wont to spend? You can get someone in to do everything - expensive. Or you can do in stages, cabinet maker, buy "fittings" yourself, fit counter top etc. Getting all done by one company is the easier option, but "doing it yourself" will save you probably around 50%, just a hassle finding the different people required to make it happen. Cheers

I am actually in the planning stages of refurbishing my house. I have had one contractor round to measure up and provide a detailed floor plan etc. I want to deal with the electrics first, and then proceed on a room by room basis starting with the kitchen. I would be happy to compare notes, either openly or via PM.

We had the guy over our house the other day and he is going to to jazz up our built ins, also fit out my sister inlaws two apartments and new house. He is the right guy as far as I amconcerned. Kitchen Studio in Jomtien on Thappraya Rd. has a huge showroom with many different types and sizes of kitchens. They are a little pricey but will custum design to your place and will work with you on your budget. If nothing else, you can get ideas and then locate/purchase on your own at various local vendors and subcontract out on your own. Manager is an Irishman named Kieran who is very helpful. They did my kitchen and I was very satisfied. Good Luck
thaiflyer1 Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Think the problem is sorted............i've taken Tuky's advice and got the number of a cabinet maker from Jai Dee. After checking JD's blog photo's the guy's work looks fine. If i remember i will post a pic or two when the work is in progress and completed. Thanks again to one and all for the suggestions.
Stravaig Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 We're also in the planning stage of extending and refurbishing a house. Comparing notes and exchanging info sounds like a good idea. Can you also send me the name and phone number of the kitchen guy? We'll be needing other tradesmen too, for plumbing, wiring, tiling, joinery, etc, etc.
