snottgoblin
I come from Street, can we have a Street street too? Nice part of the world is Somerset
transam
Maybe, on this occasion a Bridge Street is more appropiate. ... Brits play dominos, David, not bridge. They also like indoor bowls, solitaire, whips and chains, chip butties (at the same time as the whips and chains), faggots (ditto), cups of lukewarm tea, pints of lukewarm beer and Coronation Street. So there you go - call it Coronation Street. Best place in town to avoid. Bridge card game is very popular in the UK....
Songhua
The yanks can have a usa street? The russians can have a russia or moscow street? The aussies can have a australian street? MRTELLYOUSTRAIGHT
Soi Bukow in Pattaya was pretty much "England street" last time I was there. It is is overrun with chavs, skinheads, fish and chips shops and run down English pubs. There isn't one fish and chip shop in Soi Buakhao never has been. Where are all the chavs? the over 50 something crowd that is 99% of the clientele along that soi? reall intimdating and scary. How about a Sesame Street for all the muppets here. chiang mai
"But the lads were just enjoying their freedom nothing like that in the uk really". I really don't know where to go with this, when I visit the UK I always feel as though I am 100% free and I also feel as though I am extremely safe and secure, I'm unclear why others might see things differently. Perhaps you can explain why? And if your answer involves snooping, my reply will be that I'm OK with being snooped upon, anyone who is trying to protect me has the right to check and make sure I'm not doing anything bad, if I'm not, I have nothing to fear. transam
A real English street is now a toss up between Indian, Pakistani, E.European plus many more folk not from England. Soooooooooo, think we must go back to the times of Agatha Christie novels to find a real English street.

Grateful farang
@ulyses g After I sent my reply I remembered I did buy fish and chips but not from a chip shop but from a kind of bar establishment with black stools The staff were thai 2 horrible women who I could tell hate farang They couldnt speak any english and just pointed at pictures of the food. A british man appeared he seemed to have some kind of authority. He told the women to make sure I got mayonaise and kethup with my food. The man then put it in himself to make sure. I gave the woman 155 baht she seemed to be counting the money forever, like she wanted it to be more. I said thank you.and walked out into the night! 9.30pm I walked in the direction on sawasdee hotel I heard shouting behind me the woman came running with the money in her hand like I was a thief? I said its 155baht isnt it? We both counted the money in her paws and it came to 155 baht She didnt say sorry but knew she was totally in the wrong Horrible greedy bitch! Exsexyman
Walking Street in Pattaya could be renamed into England Street. Why? On the rare occasions i venture there it seems to be populated mainly by Indians, Russians and people from the Middle East.

Screw that lets just call the whole area soi Africa, on second thoughts soi Engerland is probably correct, a little bit of Brixton/Toxteth has been transported to Bkk.
