There are no multiple entry tourist visas. I suspect you got a 2 entry tourist visa in Vientiane.

If you got a red stamp you will have to find someplace else to get a visa unless they also put a not about showing financial proof the next time you try.

Also got a stamp next time shows finances.

I am over 50 I can get a retirement visa or should it return home.

You could get a single entry non-o for being over 50 in Vientiane and then apply for an extension of stay at immigration.

You would need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 dayd or have proof of 65 baht income or a combination of the two totaling 800k baht to get the extension.
