Let's not forget the ASEAN strategy for mobility of ASEAN Tourism Professionals kicks off next year. While the tourism organizations and industry will benefit from this, the Thai Tourism Professionals will not.

Were it not for emotional ties I doubt I would return to Thailand , I can see absolutely no reason why discerning tourists would not these days prefer Vietnam or Myanmar.

I wonder whether anybody at TAT does make an effort to read the TV posts on this article.

Might be a wise thing to do, they may learn a thing or two.

So what's the problem with less tourists for us?

You ask a very good question. None really. Nothing but upside. Less crowded, people more humble and potentially even friendlier, and maybe better deals. Maybe. Perhaps a depreciation of the Thai baht too, though I have seen no sign of that so far. Why? Markets remain strong?
