Does anyone recall what papers are required in Singapore to get a single entry O visa? no information on website.

I will be going next week as my work permit expires and will get a retirement visa in Thailand once I have the O.

Thanks for any help.

if you are on a non-b visa or extension of stay you don't have to go out for the non -o if you have the required financial proof to get an extension of stay based upon retirement. You can just change the reason for your extension. There is no requirement for you have a non-o visa.

In order to get the non-o in Singapore you will probably need to show financial proof plus your passport to prove you age.

I have a work visa and have been told by my employer's visa department (a multi national company) that I have to leave the country?

I worked 2 years for this company, previous to that I have had retirement visa's for about seven years, when I cancelled the retirement visa I had to leave the country to get the long stay O for the work visa?

Be far easier being able to do it here! showing finances is not a problem.

You don't have to leave.

Just get your financial proof together. Then go to immigration with a letter from your employer stating your job has ended so that they can cancel you current extension and you then apply for an extension based upon retirement..

Many have done exactly this.

Thanks ubonjoe, great advice and correct. I went along to the office today, on the way I got a statement letter from the bank - just in case! 30 minutes later I walked out with a cancelled work visa (no letter from employere asked for) a retirement visa and a multi entry visa,

If I had asked this question earlier I would have saved some money as I have a ticket etc booked for Singapore next week! I used air miles and hotel points to book and pretty sure cannot cancel, least I wont have to face the Gestapo in the S,pore embassy.

Again many thanks
