July 9, 201411 yr Need some big rocks to fill those parcels The black shell is amazing - are these destined for the pot, or exotic pets, I wonder... It's a Radiated tortoise, native to Mauritius and Madagascar, and is protected under CITES, so I'm guessing someone smuggled it into Thailand and decided this was a good way to get it to the recipient. Both should face court, but of course they won't. Not sure about the one on the left, but no doubt the same applies. Added: *Could* be legal (although I doubt it) - "Breeding stock and specimens destined for export are marked with transponders." Edited July 9, 201411 yr by Chicog
July 9, 201411 yr Forget the issue of a tortoise bound up in a box being posted to it's maker. They could have damaged other parcels.
July 10, 201411 yr "and might damage other packages" - I guess that is really relevant to the criminal problem, of "posting" live tortoises?
