I really don't wan't to sign a new 1 year contract with my landlord as I am now on month by month after the original 1 year contract expired..

But I have a consecutive 1 year extension to my marriage visa coming up and usually you need to show your rental contract if you rent a house..

Anybody have any experience of showing an expired contract when applying for a 1 year extension?

Any work arounds?

I can show credit card statements and post paid phone bills in my name at my address..

Any info on personal experiences very much appreciated.

Why not jsu draw up and have the landlord sign a month to month contract? Here's a copy of one that I made and used years ago when I was teaching in a remote location: rental agreement 2.doc

See if you can get the landlord to do a contract on a month to month basis.

It will depend on the immigration office you use as to how picky the are on the rental contract and proof of residence.
