TOURIST VISA

Featured Replies

ARE UK CITIZENS STILL ABLE TO GET A FREE VISA ON ARRIVAL ?

Visa exempt entry. G7 nation. 30 days by air. 30 days by land but varies - may be 15 for you.

Yes visa exempt entries are still available for UK citizens as well as others that are qualified for them.

Since you are from the UK you will even get a 30 day entry at the border.

EU citizens don't get a visa on arrival. They get 30 days visa exemption, i.e. no need for a visa.

If you want to stay longer than that, it is advisable to get a tourist visa at the Thai embassy. It is usually valid for a 60 days' stay, but can be extended for another 30 days in Thailand.

Using all caps is akin to shouting and not really polite when posting ... and it's a visa exempt entry not a visa on arrival.

The maximum stay on a multi entry tourist visa is? After it expires, would it be ok to do at least one run?

Agreed, I suspect (or hope) he's not native British, just has a British passport.

The maximum theoretical stay is just under 9 months, if you get a triple entry tourist visa immediately before coming to Thailand. You will need to get three extensions and do two border runs, making sure that the last one is before the expiry date of your visa (which is usually six months after issue). So the longest you can get, theoretically, is your leaving Thailand nine months after the visa is issued.

Double entry, 6 months with two extensions and one border run, single entry, 3 months with one extension.
