Ok. i hoping for some information from you all reference my visa.

I am currently working with an ext of stay that expires 15th September 2014. BUT i have been told that due to changes in the rules at Krusapha (teachers council) my existing paperwork is not sufficient and there is no time to get the required documents before expiry. So I need to make other arrangements.

I'm thinking that the easiest thing would be a trip to Savannakhet Laos for a one year multi entry Non O based on marriage.

So my question is.i have read that i can only get a new visa within 30 days of the old visa (ext) expiring is this correct and does it apply in this instance.

any other relevant details would be nice.. i haven't had to think about visas for 6 years or more.

regards Allan

If you have an extension based upon teaching you would need to cancel your work permit and extension before leaving.

For the extension you would just need a letter from the school stating the date your job ends an then on or shortly before that date go to immigration and cancel it..

Then go out for the multiple entry non-o visa.

I missed you are married. In that case you could get a 60 day extension instead of only 7, based on your marriage. At the end you could apply for an extension agian if you qualify by then.

ok wait!

you are saying that when i cancel my current extension based on work i can get an in country 60 day extension based on marriage, right?

i am presuming the last bit about qualify is about the 400k or 40k per month, right?

that is part of the problem . i don't have the 400k hence my thoughts about the one year non o (marriage) in Laos.

if i go for the 60 day but then go and get the non o do you think there will be a problem?

by the way thanks to both you and Ubon.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. No financial proof will be needed,

Your wife will need to go to immigration with you when you apply for it. You will need your marriage certificate, wife's house book and ID card plus copies. Some offices may want proof of residence if you are not living where your wife's house book is for,

No problem to get the 60 day and then go out for the non-o
