Popular Post BSJ
3,000 rounds of ammo? Gun collector? Doesn't add up. Your right, unless he has only just started collecting. Back home I would have at least 3000 rounds in 9mm and 3000 in 5.56mm and another in 7.62mm plus 5000 in .22....and 1000 in 12 gauge. You never can tell when an unusual situation can occur and you need your collection for other purposes.

The Deerhunter
Private ownership of guns should be outlawed . The Ruby Ridge, loony right arguments do not apply to Thailand. Oh, so you wouldn't appreciate a gift membership to the NRA for your next birthday, then.

Robby nz
Silencer on an M16 will only work at the shooters end. Anyone who has ever been shot at by a high caliber firearm or been in the butts at a rifle range will tell you there are two bangs for every shot. One (the second) is the actual rifle being fired, the first is the projectile passing at above the speed of sound, as in breaking the sound barrier. You can get low power 22 amo that can be silenced but as far as I know not 222 which is the amo used in a M16. Anyway great to get even more weapons off the streets.
Popular Post bangrak
Private ownership of guns should be outlawed . The Ruby Ridge, loony right arguments do not apply to Thailand. Not, pleased to see you have extreme opinions even without your red shades on! Has it ever occured to you that most incidents involving the use of weapons are criminal acts perpetrated by people who have no license to detain, and the more so, carry, that/those weapons? The illegal weapons are the big problem, the main issue, people selling weapons illegally, selling illegal weapons, to people who will knowingly illegally detain and carry those! These are the ill intentioned ones, which should, indeed, be chased down, and harshly punished, as they are also the ones who will be the most prone to use a weapon, not in self-defense, but to commit violent crimes! How many millions of such, illegal, weapons in Thailand...?

tonytigerbkk
Isn't a 7.6 mm primarily a sniper rifle? No not at all, there are many countries that still use the Belgian FN SLR, which uses a 7.62 round and don't forget that the AK47 ues 7.62 ammo as well.. How many millions of such, illegal, weapons in Thailand...? Yes, but we see an emerging gun culture in Thailand, very much in the American tradition of some bizarre right to carry ( or at least own ) guns. I prefer the system adopted in the UK, Canada, Europe, Australia,, New Zeeland in which there are severe restrictions on private ownership. It is not chance that the homicide rates in those countries are about 1/4 that of the USA. I wish more people would support the sensible politicians like Dianne Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi . We don't want Thailand having a firearm free for all Sorry, but its already a free-for-all, or haven't you noticed - although guess its Ok if they are owned by the good old red guys.
