Two Weeks For Avatar To Be Updated

Featured Replies

I just noticed my avatar has changed. I created it on the 29th June and uploaded it then.

I also uploaded it the day after IIRC as I thought there was a problem. I then forgot about it as it didn't change.

And now, more than two weeks later, it changes!

I know it can take a while to be updated but, really, two weeks?

It was quite topical at the time, but now I doubt many people realise what it is.

FYI George et al:

I uploaded a new avatar (Blake's 7) on 2nd August.

It appeared as my avatar on this site on 9th August.

Your ISP is caching static content like avatars. Use Gravatar.com instead for instant update.

Aha, so this caching by the ISP is the reason why not all members see another member's avatar change at the same time.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Edit:
No good - they don't do animated gifs. sad.png
