Hi,

I am under 50 years old, not married, but my Thai-girlfriend and I have a 6 month old boy together. We also live together. Can I get a Non-immigrant Visa based on that and how does that work? What is required?

I currently have a non-immigrant B visa and a work permit, but we are considering moving our IT-company outside of Thailand, since we see no point in hiring and paying for 4 unneeded Thai-staff, just to have a work-permit. The company could basically be placed anywhere in the world. I am therefore considering swapping the B visa to a O visa, if that is possible based on the birth certificate.

Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I do not have much knowledge about the different visas and I seem to get different answers dependent on who I ask. So will try my luck here :-)

Thanks for any help/advice.

To get anything other than single entry non-o visas or 60 day extensions you will need to legitimize your parenthood by going through a court. After that you could get a one year extensions of stay based upon the being the parent of a Thai.

Thanks for the info and link.
