Pattaya is Perfect

The number and density of available Thai rentals however is quite unique to Pattaya.

The number certainly is. As for density, I reckon Danok takes the honours. At least nobody tries to pretend there's any other reason to visit there.

YES "Pattaya is Perfect".................if you like filthy beaches with deckchairs, jetskis, scammers, ugly unrestricted building, a forest of awful advertising signage, rubbing shoulders with sexpats in wife beater singlets, skanky tattooed hookers, aggressive drunk Russians, sleazy Indians, ladyboys on the make, stalls of useless tourist crap.......go for it.

the real beauty of Pattaya is that you don't run into some Khun Loong alt=laugh.png>

As I said Naam, if that sort of shit is your thing, then go for it. I won't stop you because THAT is the real beauty of Pattaya: it concentrates all the worst of sex tourism in one area, all those creepy losers never venture far from the bar or brothel. And you are right, you won't run into me there. It's not meant for, non does it cater to me. Once was enough.

you, dear Sir, have no idea what sort of shit my thing is. but i will enlighten you... in my [not so] humble view Pattaya is unique in South East Asia as far as shopping of imported delicious food stuff is concerned and that concentrated in an area of just a few km².

in my home, located in the outskirts of Pattaya, i don't encounter what you have listed. exception: 9 years ago, for a very short period, my wife employed a ladyboy in the making" as driver.

Well I've only been to pats once and that was when I was 24 and just gotten divorced (ridiculous situation I know). Divorced in Bangkok then 10 days in pats at the peek of high season, over and incl x-mas day.

From what little I can remember, it had great restaurants at good prices, great accommodation options, great transport options and great women options as I got laid every single night with an absolute stunner (for a reasonable fee). What a great town, never bothered to checkout the beach, the hotel pool was awesome with swim up bar.

I was VERY refreshed from my divorce after that, and from working in a dry Arab country for 4 months prior. What a <deleted> great town, far from perfect but what place is?

I remember the evening I arrived after signing papers that very morning; dumped my bags, quick shower, change of clothes and a quick splash of Creed saw me out the door to walking street. Stopped off at the first empty beer bar where I could have all the girls to myself, and I saw there was pretty girl id yearned for for the past however many months. I ordered 10 shots of sambuca and 1 tiger.. The girls asked 'when Ur friend coming?' .. I said, 'what friend? I come here by myself'.. They said 'Oooa!! U orda too mutt u crazy man iz all foor yoo!!???' I said yep. And proceeded to down them all with a beer chaser over the next 15 minutes or so. Naturally I was quite pissed but had a great time with all the girls, listened to my sob story, played some Nintendo wii on the big projector, got hammered, and took the pretty girl home and had a great night. Where else in the world can you do this!!?? (Other than phils and probably cambs).

Haven't actually been back and have no plan to, id rather leave it as a happy and bizarre experience to remember. I'm happily married now to a decent girl 6 years after this experience and and a changed man. I seldom get plastered in fact, if not only when with some close friends and a couple of real English ales and bottle of 18 year macallan are involved

I think you are the fourth guy who has failed to read, "Thai Women."

Not wishing to state the obvious but, along with Paulaner and pizza, "Thai women" are hardly unique to Pattaya.

The number and density of available Thai rentals however is quite unique to Pattaya.

definitely more than in Nakhon Nowhere and Pornthipratchasimaburi together thumbsup.gif

Totally agree with that, the food in Pattaya is outstanding. When I go it will be by far and away what I miss the most. The good news is I should be able to shift a few kilos'

Indeed not, but if entering an economic element into the equation Pattaya remains a pretty perfect place to enjoy them all.

I don't believe Paulaner and/or pizza is any cheaper in Pattaya than anywhere else in the country. And certainly not when purchased in The Hopf.

Thai women in Pattaya (quality and quantity). Deal of the century especially during the slow season. Women who would not have given me a second look a couple of months ago are now smiling sweetly and turning on the blue light special offers. "Short and tan and young and lovely the girl from Issan goes walking and when she passes each one she passes goes ahhh.

Many of your 5,100 posts are about your wonderful Thai wife, and her wonderful large extended family that dont want 1 baht from you, and how happy you are, and now you are saying you get a hard on looking at cheap Issan hoes. Surely if you had such a wonderful wife why would you look at cheap hoes ?

The "perfect" referred to they amount of tourists now in Pattaya. Not too many to be crowded and not too few to force closure of entertainment venues. I don't like to rub shoulders with guys in singlets either. Now there is room for all on the sidewalks to walk and enjoy the town. I wouldn't recommend the beaches either. I used to live on the ocean in American and I'm used to nice beaches. I also used to live in the Rocky Mountains and I wouldn't recommend Pattaya for mountains.

Now the with the crowds gone the good looking ladies come out. Now with the crowds gone, means most of the Russians are gone too. Lady boys have always been in Pattaya and thanks to Tiffany's show the most beautiful lady boys in the world come to Pattaya.

During the slow season there is room for all; vendors and walkers and sitters and drinkers. The biggest attractions to me in Pattaya are the people and the food. If you know where to look Cuban cigars too. What more do you want? Fresh German beer, Authentic Italian pizza, French cuisine, Cuban cigars and Thai women?

You moved to Thailand to drink German beer, eat pizzas and smoke Cuban cigars. Interesting.

Ahh you missed it. I moved to Thailand to drink Fresh German beer and eat Italian pizza and French cuisine and smoke Cuban cigars with Thai women?

You see in my quest for excellence I have found I like German beer, Italian Pizza, French food, Cuban cigars and Thai women.

I have tried other food and women and beer and cigars so it is not for lack of experience. For example the German women and Thai beer combination was not so good. Thai cigars and German Pizza didn't work well. French beer was a bit fruity for my taste and so on.

You mean you actually live in the place you miss no opportunity talking sh!t about? Man, you are seriously weird...

I've been going to Pattaya for a long time and my theory is that it's not the town that changes so much as the people getting older and hence their experience of the place changes. Yes the town keeps getting bigger and more development but people were complaining about that back when I started going too.

Wrt girls, the guys get older and not such a hansum man anymore but the girls are still the same age, so guys equate that to the town going downhill...lol.

It hasn't change that much as far as I'm concerned. A lot more Russians now but 10 year from now it will probably be some other nationality.

I think it has gotten better in some ways. No longer any need to go to Bkk for shopping. Back before Central and Tucom there wasn't much in the way of big department stores/IT places. People would make special trips to Bkk just for that. A Robinsons would be nice but I don't really need any of that myself.

Behind every thai apologist, you have in fact a perverts whistling.gif

Finally that explains all these nonsense that you get all day long in this forum from these looney.... it was in fact just about pussyrolleyes.gif

Maybe you should get some help. I think your definition of pervert for most would be normal. I'm not a priest and as far as I know this is not a celibate forum.

Feel free to correct me with your definition of pervert and Thai apologist.

Pattaya is boss, always loved coming down from Isaan but last week was absolute murder for traffic. Stay central, take the baht bus, eat at great restaurants and get pissed, happy days.

Apparently things are quite a bit more aggressive there for men than for women. I went to Pattaya with my elderly mother and had a great time. My son went there this week and emailed me that he couldn't believe I'd sent him to such a place. A ladyboy on the street literally grabbed my son's genitals through his pants (I told him he was probably pickpocketing him at the same time, but the wallet was still there) and a bar girl charged him 500 baht to say to her "I don't really wan't to talk, thanks" and said "you pay NOW". I know this stuff happens, I guess I never experienced such aggressive weirdness anywhere but in Jamaica (strong arming to pay more) and I traveled all over Thailand. Sad.

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE.

mAYBE I WILL REPLY WHEN I STOP LAUGHING

Thanks! That's very helpful! I was just making the point that it is different for women than for men as tourists in Thailand. I've been to 11 countries, and people can be flat our assaultingly gross to women in many of them (never going back to Jamaica). I experienced none of that in Thailand. Apparently it's quite different for men, at least if my brother and son's experiences are any indicator.

Maybe you should have taught him some street survival skills when he was growing up?

Anyway, if he didnt have any before then he has had a very cheap crash course here, in relative safety, and that may stand him in good stead if ever he goes somewhere really dodgy.

Perhaps rather than being unpleasant you could post some real advice? He has been abroad before, just never been assaulted before. If you have something productive and helpful to add that would be welcomed.

All he was saying is he needs to grow a thicker skin and perhaps LOS is an ideal place to do it. if his next destinstion is somewhere much rougher around the edges then he will be able to handle the situation better than if he hadn't had some unpleasant experiences in LOS. We've all had them, especially in LOS

Not sad at all. Gives the place part of its charm and character. Yep, just never know when you're genitals are gonna be grabbed or otherwise appreciated. smile.png Your son's off to a good beginning. Many of us were mere Boy Scouts when we first came to Thailand. Funny how quickly that attitude changes.

I wasnt being unpleasant at all (I rarely am), and what advice should I be giving after the event anyway? I was just pointing out that he learned a useful lesson quite cheaply and with a minimum of danger, which seems like fair comment to me.

I wonder how he would be had his trip been to Bogota rather than Pattaya? Or even to some places in nearby countries.

Your son sounds like quite a neophyte. Yes, there are aggressive ladyboys. We just politely shoo them away. And as far as aggressive bar girls go, if he was silly enough to give one 500 baht simply because she suggested she was owed, I have a very inexpensive bridge in Brooklyn I could sell him. He sounds young. He will learn to develop his discriminative faculties. Pattaya is a fun town. Amazing nightlife. And yes, the city is far more than walking street. I just left this morning, and on a 4 day trip never even bothered with walking street which is for some, but not for others. Have no problem with it but felt no need to see it again. Have any of you tried the 34th floor, open air rooftop bar at the Hilton at sunset? 290 baht net for two cocktails. Amazing spot. The town offers alot of good food, some really good expat guys living in Pattaya, and well, whatever else you are looking for.

Spidermike007

Yes, he is quite young, on his 2nd trip abroad alone. I think it's easy for those sitting on their computers to say what one should have done with the bar girl situation, but my brother (who was a national geographic photog who travelled all over the globe), a very big guy in his 30's, got his skull fractured after calling foul on a girl in Thailand demanding pay for talking to him in a bar. I told my son about this before he left. If 500 baht was the price he paid for learning to stay out of bars in Thailand, that's fine, and better than a skull fracture.

Been living on the outskirts of Pattaya for 12 years and this has NEVER happened to me, in fact i have only had problems with 2 british drunkards, no thai problems

Pattaya has some of the most beautiful women in the world and they are willing to talk to me.

C'mon! It doesn't even have the most beautiful women in Chonburi. Besides, the most beautiful women in Pattaya are all blokes. giggle.gif

If you want a clean beach go South a bit.

That's true. thumbsup.gif

 • 4 weeks later...

They make a wheat and a lager there and I also had a Paulaner from Munich. Non Alcohol beer also available.

90 to 155 baht.

I bet you anything you like they don't make it there, those brass tanks are just for show, If they brewed at those premises you would smell it on the streets as they would have to vent it out

Just to say the word "bet" on this forum means you've already lost, pal. Been waitin' to hear how the member who bet "both nuts" is now faring. Suggest you not go that far. wink.png

Talk to Tim, the brewmeister, great guy. While you're at it, order his favorite dish from the kitchen. Me, I went there just last week and had a pint or so of wheat beer. smile.png

There are thousands of pictures from Google Image of the place, the pizza ovens, the kitchen and yet strangely not one showing the beer being brewed, the place is always busy and sells a lot of the wheat beer, its would be major operation to produce that much beer, its not done on the premises, certainly not in those tanks behind the bar, the vents are not even connected your kidding yourself if you think it is

Google images! Well done! clap2.gif

Duh. Told you already (after your "bet") to go there and talk to Tim. He'll explain about the brewing tanks, the fermentation tanks, and the dispensing tanks--right there on the premises. Go there when he's brewing and he'll be glad to walk you through the process. Quite a nice guy. Hang around outside (which, oddly enough, I don't) and, yes, you can smell it on the street.

Just more ignorance and nonsense on the forum. Always good for a laugh! cheesy.gif
