July 21, 201411 yr Anybody ever order from Aliexpress.com? They have great selections and prices but I'm worried about getting hammered by customs. Any thoughts? thanks
July 21, 201411 yr I have ordered several small low value items and they were sent by e.m.s - had no problems. If you order large items or high value items that are sent by courier, i think you will be taxed.
July 21, 201411 yr Don't get anything sent by courier or you will be charged tax, also try dx.com, they have a wide range of products and most are free delivery, ordered several times from them ,no problems. regards Worgeordie
July 21, 201411 yr Have ordered items from Aliexpress,as for taxes The valuation method is CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight), which means that the import duty and taxes payable are calculated on the complete shipping value. Imports with a CIF value up to 1000 THB are exempt from duty and VAT. Alcohol and tobacco products are subject to excise duty, So think small baht.
July 21, 201411 yr Yes Beb. Great prices. But that's because most of the stuff they sell are fakes. Buying fakes is participating in their criminal activity. And putting your life at risk if it's something like fake carbon cycle wheels etc.
July 21, 201411 yr I have ordered once from Ali Express, and got a satisfactory item sent EMS with no taxes. I would probably order from them again if what I wanted was not available elsewhere. I also ordered once from DX.com, and received counterfeit items which was confirmed by the manufacturer. Not likely to try again. Just about everything they both sell is available on Ebay, where I usually have good experiences, even with Chinese junk. Never have shipping done by courier; EMS is the best trackable postal service. Ya gotta be careful out there. Edited July 21, 201411 yr by curtklay
