I have two friends. They are both mid forties, well dressed and conservative looking, and wealthy. They live in Phuket and have done for 4 years or more. One is Australian and the other is German. They both recently went to immigration to extend one of the entries on their multi entry tourist visa.

The Australian guy had no issues. In and out in a couple of minutes.

The German guy was questioned intensly about his income, work, where he lives, etc.

Anyone have any similar stories regarding Tourist visa extensions.

I seen no reports of problems getting extensions for tourist visa entries.

Tourist visas are not issued as multiple entries they are done by the number of entries.

Both are on the last entry of 3 entry tourist visas. Both were on B visas prior. The Aussie was in out in a couple of minutes but the German had serious difficulties. They both present well, no tattoos and dressed well and spoke politely for the visit to immigration. So UJ you can note that incident as a genuine example of problems getting a tourist visa extension.

.

They both got the extensions, right? ("serious difficulties" is not getting the extension) They question one guy and not another even though they both have similar histories. Wouldn't they have questioned BOTH of them if there were a problem with TV extensions?

Much ado about nothing.

Mods please close this knee-jerk, panic button post.

I went for my 30-day tourist visa extension today at Chaengwattana, Bangkok. Triple entry tourist visa from England. My passport is full of tourist visas, mainly from Phnom Penh.

I had no trouble what-so-ever. I had read posts on here claiming they would need to see 20,000baht in cash, so I took that. That I needed to prove where I live, so I took my condo deeds. That I needed an air ticket out, so I got one. Non of that was requested. She wasn't interested in the contents of my passport, just the visa page.

I asked her if I would be allowed back into the country if I tried to activate my second entry on that visa. She said, "why not?" I asked her about the new visa-run regulations. She had no idea what I was talking about. She asked the others in the office... no one knew anything.
