Expiring Visa B

Featured Replies

My Visa B expires tomorrow. I came into Thailand on it last week. I will now stay in Thailand until the beginning of September but will obviously need to enter on a tourist visa. Do I have to leave and come in again by tomorrow so that I don't overstay or would it be OK to wait until Monday for this? I am concerned that I may not be allowed to reenter if I have any days of overstay?

You have to leave tomorrow or will be on overstay.

I guess you re-enterd the country on a re-entry permit, given you only had 1 week.

Yep came in on re-entry permit. Just concerned I might have problems coming back in after having a few days of overstay?

Yes maybe. Just leave and come back with a tourist visa. Very easy to head over to Myanmar (with a visa in advance), Cambodia, Laos etc. and then return with a tourist visa. Don't overstay - it's not worth the hassle and you may not be allowed to leave at a land border if caught with an overstay.

Are you talking about a visa exempt entry?
