You know that famous golfer Colin Montgomerie has large man boobs, very prominent under the sweaty golf shirt. But he's a multimillionaire so doesn't give a darn about his boobs. At least he says nothing about them.

Some women have mustaches.

men with man boobs are as attractive as women with mustaches.

actually it is impossible to spot reduce fat from the chest. man boobs (Gynecomastia) are not much different from lady boobs smile.png if a lady goes on a diet - assuming she is quite fat - then of course she will loose some wieght from that area but her boobs will not disappear. if a thin lady with not too much extra fat goes on a diet then obviously her boobs will remain intact.

fact is, if you lost every ounce of fat on your body and got down to 6 stone your man boobs would be the only fat remaining.

there are loads of websites with peoples storys etc. on the net. it is a huge problem especially with younger men/boys these days. it is basically as a result of estrogen in the water supply as a result of the female birth control pill which gets passed in to the water supply when women - pee pee smile.png

if you look at pics of men pre. birth control pill (pror to 1960-ish) you may note that men were very much flat chested.

the only way to get rid of them is by lipo suction.

" it is a huge problem especially with younger men/boys these days. it is basically as a result of estrogen in the water supply as a result of the female birth control pill which gets passed in to the water supply when women - pee pee smile.png"

Is this for real?? Are there enough women peeing birth-control byproducts into the water supply to change the hormonal balance of the population? If the amounts are so large as to affect male physiology, as you say, wouldn't they also be having a dramatic impact on female fertility?

What is the science behind this claim... the sources?

here you are since your obviously incapable of doing any simple research yourself. just for starters though as im sure you will still choose to deny it because 'i never seen it n the news so it couldnt be true'. (google will help you as much as you want)

Estrogen in Our Water Supply and the Feminization of the Human Race

Between 1999 and 2000, the U.S. Geological Survey sampled 139 surface waters throughout the U.S. They discovered that 80% of these waters contained endocrine disrupting chemicals (mostly estrogens).

What’s more disturbing, is the effects these estrogens are now having on wildlife. Fish, in the very waters we end up drinking, are changing sex due to exposure to excess estrogen.

In 2004, researchers collected and studied a sample of white sucker fish in Boulder Creek, Colorado. Not only did they find five times more females than males, but half of the male fish had female tissue, and the entire population was sterile.

It’s funny (or maybe not so funny) how we can see a similar trend in humans, with reducing sperm counts in men, lower testosterone levels than in past generations, rising rates of infertility, and more females being born than males.

Though to date, research hasn’t shown a direct link between the water we drink and feminization in humans, there’s plenty of indirect evidence that suggests estrogen in our drinking water is at least playing a big role in our feminization as a species, along with all the other sources of estrogen we’re exposed to on a daily basis.

How Estrogen Gets Into Your Drinking Water

Well a lot of it comes from the use of the oral contraceptive pill by women. The pill causes women to pass massive amounts of estrogen through their urine, which makes its way to our water systems.

Depending on which country you look at, up to 60% of women in the West are on the pill, and figures in the East are rising rapidl

"here you are since your obviously incapable of doing any simple research yourself." Ok, I'll play.

Hmmm... so the source of your information is a website dedicated to male "chest sculpting' - not what I'd normally consider a reliable source for scientific assertions about the environment. Now, to their credit, they do provide links to real research. Most of the research cited talks about the impact of estrogen levels in the environment on male health. The question then becomes 'how does the estrogen get out there' Well, the only study cited is purely correlational and cannot help determine causality: the researchers simply found that in countries where there was a higher use of the birth control pill, men had a higher likelihood of developing prostate cancer. We don't know if one causes the other... it could simply be due to the fact BCpill use and prostate cancer rates are both higher in wealthier countries, not because one causes the other, but because of other lifestyle characteristics of these countries (type of food consumed, amount of exercise). The authors of the linked article said specifically: "This study is an ecological study and thus has significant limitations with respect to causal inference. It must be considered hypothesis generating, and thought provoking." Even your chest magazine said, "researchers suggested there might be a link between oral contraceptive use by women, and rising rates of prostate cancer". But you came in here and stated it as fact... as a given. If you want to do more google research yourself, you will find that there are many more significant sources of estrogrens in the water supply than women using BCpills... Cheers.

as i said that was one simple search. i have searched using various terms eg. female pill estrogen in water. gyno due to female pill. feminisation of men due to estorgen. etc

i managed to get 3678000 hits. do you want them all are are you happy to simply remain ignorant. if you dont want to believe then you never will.

so jog on pal.

PS did you know that flouride in the water actually reduces IQ ? no - thought not. how can it be explained to a person with low cognative ability that they are retarded. i guess you think it is good for the teeth.

pps are there any particuar sources that you would believe. eg. wikipedia, bbc, fox for idiots, cnn with its current ratings lower than the pattaya

http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gynecomastia/basics/causes/con-20028710 has some useful info.

pics to show what it looks like.

Liposuction would seem to be the quickest cosmetic solution. Not sure if a pill / hormonal medications will revert/ revert to what % ????

As someone posted eating chickens high in antibiotics could potentially cause this. alcohol is another notable cause.

Suppose male gynecomastia could have pro's also as it would reduce SRS costs as only the bottom half would need to be done.

Don't worry about my understanding of science, research, IQ, etc... I used to teach research methodology to graduate students. That's how I know that correlation does not equal causation, something that I tried to explain to you, but which hasn't seemed to have sunk in. And no, I'm not American, though I've had peer-reviewed research papers published in American journals.

Now, if you look at my last post, you will see that I already alluded to doing a Google search on this.... Believe me, I don't need you help with that. I also said that such a search, if you read the links rather than counting them, will make it clear that there far more significant sources of estrogen in the environment than women pissing down the drain. Have a good evening...

As for your claim about flouride affecting IQ, the primary source for that claim appears to be a study conducted in China which compared mean IQs between cities with little/no fluoride in the water supply and those with toxic levels due to environmental contamination... We're not talking about amounts in the neighbourhood of what governments add to the water supply. We're talking about mega doses. Perhaps this parallel will aid your understanding: small doses of some vitamins may be good for you, but mega doses of the same vitamin can be harmful. And so it goes for flouride (and many other things in life). Of course, you also have the freedom to craft an aluminium hat to protect you from those cosmic rays that are bombarding your skull everyday.

Just feel blessed you have your own boobies that you can grab, touch and caress anytime you want too. Women pay $thousands for these things and most men here in Thailand also pay, sometimes very dearly in order to cop a feel.

I for one am not a booby person as I think they are ugly and no longer serve the purpose they were meant too. In fact I believe that women should have them removed in order to preserve their life and prevent harboring growth of cancers.

BE PROUD of your boobies.

I'm very active and exercise most days, and not overweight.

You keep saying this but you won't give any stats or pic despite several members' asking. So either this isn't true--as is beginning to seem more and more likely--or you suspect it isn't really true, or the OP is is a troll post. And is this really a new problem? Seems you'd have done something about it long ago.

I've heard lots of overweight people claim they aren't overweight and have exaggerated notions of what active means. In fact the very word overweight has been conveniently redefined in the popular mind to fit the new normal.

There are so many resources and discussions of the topic on the internet, why come to this particular forum?

'Cause you always lose. Your post was full of nonsense.

The anti-American comment was from JonesTheBaker, not myself. He was the one suggesting that women using birth control pills and peeing into the water supply is causing man-boobs, and he also drew a causal link between flouride and low IQ using a study of questionable relevance. I responded by suggesting he wear an aluminium hat to keep out the cosmic rays... He asked me if I were American (I'm not, but that's irrelevant).

I have just realised the quoting system was not working when I was using the iPad app, so I can see it would be difficult to tell who said what.

A number of off-topic and/or inflammatory posts have been removed.

The original inquery has been answered thoroughly. "Man Boobs":can be either actual breast tissue or just fat. In either case, no exercise per se will remove them but if fat, overall weight loss (of which exercise is an important part) will help.

Need to see a doctor to determine whether this is actual breast tissue (gynecomastia) and, if so, treat underlying cause.
