Appreciate if Ubonjoe or similar Jedi Knight immigration requirement guru could check and tell me if I will be doing things right.

Worked in Thailand for around 12 years with all the correct visas/extensions/work permit and then left to work in Hong Kong for 3 years (left Thailand before the last extension and my work permit expired and have no idea what happened to the WP) and just came back to Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa (single entry).

Been offered a job here and need to jump through all the hoops again.

Should I apply at the Thai embassy in KL or should I go to Penang?

Do I apply for a work permit before I go to Malaysia or after I come back (I don't have to go to Malaysia next week, I can delay any travel); I understand that I have to show Letter of approval from the Ministry of Labour that I get when the company submits a FORM WP3.

Should I mention to the embassy people that I used to have a WP for 12 years? I have all of my cancelled passports that have copies of all Visas/extensions but don't know where any copy of the WP is.

Once I get the WP and Non-imm B visa then I apply for an extension of stay for a year.

Should I get a multiple entry Non-imm B visa at the beginning or do I sort out the multiple entries after I get the extension.

Much obliged for any constructive comments.wai2.gif

And UbonJoe should start a consulting business to help us clueless people....can barter for Bitcoins or Beer.

You will need to apply for a work permit and get a letter of approval from the labor ministry in order to apply for the non-b visa.

When you apply for the visa you will need the letter of approval plus documents from the company. Kl is not the best place to go for your visa.

You would not be able to get a multiple entry non-b until you have your work permit and Penang is the only place to get them nearby here.

What kind of vias or entry do you have now?

Thanks Ubonjoe. I am on a 60 day Tourist visa (single entry) and I came in on 20 July this month. If not KL then where would you suggest....I can go anywhere in the region.

Tourist visa is good. Was worried you might have a 30 exempt entry that might not be enough time to get things done and some work permit offices may not accept them for applications.

Penang or Vientiane are the best nearby locations for the non-b.
