Vanilla (Vanilla plantifolium) --- Plants or viable seeds

Hi

I'm looking to buy Vanilla plants or seeds to grow vanilla. The number on an older forum about this isn't working now.

Anyone know where I can get Vanilla plants in Thailand. I'm living in Udon but can travel.

I explored the possibility of growing vanilla in Thailand. On a commercial basis it is very labour intensive , not so much in the growing but the processing. That is why most of it now grown in Burma ,Papua New Guinea or Africa.

 

 There are also about 17 different varieties used in the production of vanilla.I was intending to import my stock from Australia and import them using tissue culture specimens.

 

However , because they are an orchid i would look around any of the bigger orchid nurseries. There is a big one on the road to Pai that i think has them but i don't think he has them at wholesale prices..
