We've read about the fake 1000 bht notes in Trang and the printed 1000 bht "wallpaper" in BKK (may be one and the same).

I'm in Hat Yai.

A neighbour showed me a fake 500 baht note that she was passed yesterday.

Not a very good fake as it has a strip of white on one end, but the colour and feel is realistic....not hard to pass in a bunch.

 

People need to be aware.

 

 

I'm not sure what she will do with it....probably try to pass it on....when wifey gets home I'll ask her to find out. The authorities need to know. Perhaps I should pay her to take it to the police, (I won't buy it off her and be the one in possession of it).

 

Mods, I wonder if you can copy this to Southern Thailand, or can I duplicate this thread there for the sake of warning the Southerners?
