Hello. Can someone help me with my dilemma.

I'm 44, from UK, married to a Thai national. My one-yr extension based on marriage expires 15 Sept. I work frequently abroad and I have to go to Australia on 12 Sept, returning to Bangkok 20 Sept.

 

Given the clash of dates, when should I apply for my new one-yr extension? Can I apply before I leave? Will immigration give me flexibility beyond my expiry date of 15 Sept?  

 

Any advice on this will be gratefully received.

Apply before, I always apply two weeks in advance.

Remember to get a re-entry permit.

You can apply up to 30 days early and at some offices even 45 days early.

 

You are always advised to extend early and the extension does always start on the day the current extension edns, so you don't lose any days.
