Hope someone can help me on this, I have had my UK passport renewal away since the start of June, the passport is still not back, I've no pages left on my current one and my visa is up on Friday (8th August).

 

I am going to have to get a UK emergency passport. I am wondering if I can do the Poipet Visa run on this just to get 30 days before the regulations change on the 12th.

 

Do anyone have any info/experience with this? Any info would be much appreciated.

I would recommend that you check status with the relevant office because I've read in the relevant thread that passports can be ready without them telling you.

 

For a little extra time you can get a 7 days extension for Bt. 1,900 

 

I recommend you avoid travelling with an ETD and obtain a regular visa with the new passport.

After 3 emails and a weeks wait, I've been told it's still in Liverpool. I was just wanting to do the visa hop this week before things change ( I can then get 60 days extension through 'visiting my spouse') then get a Non B with work once I get my new passport.

Unless you have a history of out/in visa exempt entries you will not have a problem getting a 30 day entry.

The rules always mentioned for the 12th have been in effect for some time the 12th is the date for them to officially go into effect.

I've had 2 in/outs in the last year. Would prefer going to Savannakhet to get a Non-O but a bit tight with money this month.

No need to fly out on an E-visa, there are three crossings that accept it.

The choice for flying looked me the safest way with all those landborder individual rulings....as i did not know OP situation (no time to read all the topics complete lately )..... to much situations  everyware ...... glad i am on retirement age , Clock is ticking for many ..... and think many not aware Immigration is closed many daysaround 12 august !!

Another quick question in regards to this issue. Does anyone know if I need to go to immigration to get my stamps transfered over or will showing the 2 passports at the border suffice?

You can show your passport and the ETD on departure from the country.and they will transfer you entry/permit to stay stamp to the ETD and stamp you out in it.
