antsrule
Very nice work! I think there might be a profitable profession in this for him. Why not? I think there are several thousand other lottery losers in Thailand who could benefit from this inspirational wallpaper.

mike324
The second biggest corruption in Thailand -- the Lottery. Companies, three companies, pay for the tickets ahead of time. Less than half are sold. Anyone want to venture a guess how many times those three companies -- supposedly selling lottery tickets -- have won the lottery? It's legal, of course, they paid for the tickets...... Yeah, right. This is one of hundreds of examples of how the current push to get rid of corruption is a very selective, uneven effort, and ineffective to boot. There are 2-3 companies that are allow to resell the tickets, and needless to say politicians are shareholders of all these companies, they make tens of millions baht per month through lottery sales. During Thaksin's administration, he even created a department in the lottery office where part of the proceeds go to, no one is allow to investigate this department. spidermike007
In the US, a payout of between $10 million and $200 million can be achieved for the purchase of one $1 ticket. And the lottery is highly regulated, by state authorities. Granted the odds are far less, but the payoff is great. Here, you buy a ticket for 100 baht, and what do you win? 100,000 baht? That is 1000 to 1. Imagine the profit being made by the lottery people? Most lotteries here are private. What kinds of regulation would we be looking at? The same sort of regulation that goes into policing the jet ski industry? Or the mini van operators? Or the taxi mafia in Phuket or Samui? Buying a lottery ticket here is akin to praying to the ghosts.
