PM Thaksin calls for a meeting with energy related agencies

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has called for a meeting with energy related agencies as to discuss domestic oil situation and to encourage the usage of alternative energy.

PM Thaksin called for a meeting at the Government House where Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister Suriya Jungrungruangkij (สุริยะ จึงรุ่งเรืองกิจ), Energy Minister Viset Jupibal (วิเศษ จูภิบาล), Permanent Secretary to Energy Cherdpong Sirivich (เชิดพงษ์ สิริวิช), Director of Energy Conservation Department and representatives from PTT and Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry attended the meeting.

The premier disclosed prior to the meeting that the meeting is aimed at determining clear strategy on how and when to use the alternative energy sine the current fuel situation has affected the economy in certain aspect.

However, he said the problems are not tensed as some figures are still positive as related units are continually solving the issues.
