Getting married and her ID card

Featured Replies

I'll be getting married officially  on a Friday then flying to the UK the following Tuesday with the Mrs and kid.

I have been in touch with the Glasgow consulate and all is fine in getting the relivent Type O.

BUT, as you know i need to show my Mrs ID card as part of the process. Will there be complications as we will not have time to get her passport and ID card with my name on it.....???

That should not be the case. Thai law does not require her to change her name or to add misses to her name.

Thank you Marioi. Can breath out now :D

The end

If she takes your name the ID card would be done within minutes of you getting married. At most Amphoes now they do them while you wait.

Her passport of course would not be done yet but that should not be a problem.

Cheers Joe. I'll wait till we come back before we do anything like that. I want this to go as smooth as possible as it's been a nightmare arranging this trip as it is

When we got married at the amphur last week my wife changed her ID card at the same time. All told took about 3 hours. Seemingly because I'm foreign had to be interviewed by head of amphur. So best to check. Each amphur seems to be different. I think passport can be changed in two days. But not required yet.

Cheers mate. As i said above. I don't want any documents changed unless they have to. I won't bore everyone with the details, but trust me, it's been a nightmare to get where we are. We fly to Glasgow on the 27th of the month

Personally If she is going to change her ID card. It is easier to do it while at the amphur. Doesn't take long!
