Pattaya Entertainment Spots Checked For Permits

55.jpg
PATTAYA – August 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1.30 a.m., Mr. Sakchai Taenghor (Banglamung sheriff, Chonburi province), Mr. Phongthasit Pitjanan (Deputy District Chief and Head of Specific Unit) and Mr. Praphan Prathumchomphu (Deputy District Chief of Prevention Division) had mobilized forces of administrative officers, sub district headmen and village headmen to inspect and arrest the owners of many entertainment spots in the area of Pattaya city that had violated the law and didn’t have license permits to sell alcohol including water pipes (shisha) and also let employees and tourists that were under age into their entertainment venue.

Moreover, the officers also emphasized on inspecting entertainment spots that where owned by foreigners because they often took advantage of Thai workers. The inspection came about after complaints were posted on a website.

A non thai is taking advantage, he/she has had a good warning to get their act in order, so should not be a problem.

Strange that there is not one name of those "many entertainment spots in the area of Pattaya city that had violated the law"...? Press usually doesn't hesitate to name raided places.

I wonder how many entertainment spots were checked? If they arrested 10 owners and detained them, then that is either a very high percentage of naughty boys to their normal raids, or they checked a lot of bars.

Of course, those arrested could have been on someone's wish list or they had intel before going out hunting.

Its Good to see this crack down on farang owners that are exploiting these hard working Thai employees , I know why this crackdown started BAR OWNER CONFISCATES EMPLOYEE IPHONE

I would say that most of the foreigners who have businesses in the entertainment areas would have the appropriate licences as these are checked from time to time anyway.  It's more so the Thai's that scatter when these checks are being done because they are the ones setting up businesses without permits or licences (maybe due to them not affording them).  There are certainly less Thai's on the Bangla Road Patong when the checks are being done. Maybe they should get their own people in order before cracking down on foreign owned businesses and companies.

For any raids to actually be successful, no matter about what, the officers performing the raids should have their phones confiscated prior to briefing.

Check back in a month of so,  and the guy will be driving a new ride.    this will confirm why the inspection are being made. It is no surprise that foreigners are being targeted!   They provide the greatest payout!  No different than the helmet law majority being pull over are us so why should any of us be surprise. Like they said they got the information from our website bunch of snitches!
