Supreme Court throws out Thaksin’s case against AEC

BANGKOK: -- The Supreme Court today (Thursday) reconfirmed the rulings of the Criminal and Appeals courts rejecting the malfeasance charges related with the Ratchadapisek land scandal filed by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his ex-wife, Khunying Potjamarn na Pompetch, against the Assets Examination Committee.

The Criminal Court ruled on November 26, 2007 that it had no jurisdiction to accept the charges filed against Mr Nam Yimyaem and 10 other members of the AEC because the land scandal case was tried and decided by the Supreme Court’s criminal division for political office holders.

The ruling was eventually upheld by the Appeals Court and again reconfirmed by the Supreme Court today.

Fugitives from the law shouldn't have the right to appeal anyway. You say you've been wronged then make sure you're in court rather then thousands of miles away. bah.gif

Oh joy, oh joy!

Absolutely ridiculous that a convicted criminal on the run can start a trial in the country he was convicted in and running from.

Perhaps this attempt is part of some masterplan to be able to return to Thaiand at some later point.. And then serve minimal time on the inside.

The man hasn't lost his ways and probably never will. Why not sit back and enjoy his billions?

Amazing Thailand indeed.  This man hides from Thai justice and claims he will not get a fair trial  yet he trusts and tries to use the same system against others when it suits him.
