14 days at Poipet?

Featured Replies

A friend and I arrived overland from Poipet yesterday and both were stamped in for 14 days. Is this the standard for land arrivals now? Is it extendable?

15 days is standard unless you are a citizen of a G7 country which gets 30 days or a country that has a bilateral agreement with Thailand, such as South Korea which gets 90 days on any entry.

The 15 day entries has been standard for almost 6 years now unless your are from a G7 country or one that has a bilateral agreement with Thailand.

A quick look at the calender tells me you have a permit to stay date of the 29th. On that date you can apply for the new 30 day extension for exempt entries that starts on that date,

Ok thanks for the info. I knew it had changed to 15 days but thought it had been changed back. But apparently that is only for g7 countries. If I can extend 30 days on the 29th that would be great.

Be at immigration early on the 29th and you might be one of the first to get the 30 day extension.

Can I do this in pattaya?

South Korean are prohibited to enter via any land border, they were the worst abusers and started the current crack down.

Even at the Airport they need valid visa to enter Thailand.

You can do it at any immigration office as long as you have a local address to put on the application form.

Does my hotel count as a local address?

Yes a hotel address will be fine. As a tourist that is what they would expect.
