What is the best way to watch old movies at home in Thailand?
There are films available on Youtube (e.g. Blues brothers) but you have to watch inane insipid commentators alongside as well - offering their opinion on the movie as if you are incapable of forming one yourself. The egotism of thinking someone watching you watch TV is interesting is breath-taking - but as mentioned previously you can find anything (good or bad) on the internet. I have never understand why people can watch a programme that is filiming other people watching the TV - how utterly pointless. -

If UK State Pension represents a large part of his Retirement Budget he could be feeling the impact of inflation more than FX changes as he might not (legally shouldn't) be getting any annual increases so could have missed out on a 10.1% uplift in 2023 & a 6.7% uplift this year. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
It's the principle of the thing. What is the money going to be used for and why should tourists traveling on a budget be discouraged? It takes all types to travel. If you think the 300 baht is going to be used to be directed to the tourism areas of most need I reckon you are fooling yourself. Thailand gets plenty of tourists compared to other countries in the region which are not applying such a fee. Totally unnecessary in my opinion. -

Curious as to why the Norwegian Kroner is so weak
In that the NOK is not much different from other countries. Baht gained a lot against USD, EUR, GPB .... Have lost oversight on the misc threads about it (one from me ). NOK is a bit worse with about -5.5% since July, USD -4% (rough numbers). -

It is interesting that TAT always talk about how much the country is going to earn from tourism, Bt 3 trillion being the current long term objective. How on earth do they know how much tourists actually spend, apart from airfares maybe, which presumably don't count anyway, and probably hotels in some rough calculation. I cannot see any way that ll of the rest, on food, local transport, entertainment etc can be traceable, so they must just be doing the easy thing and multiplying the number coming in by some notional spending sum. Simplest wat to increase the amount foreigners soend is just to increase the notional spending sum. No one will notice. Job done. -

There is no written policy or procedure in your situation. If you decease, then your wife's permission of stay ends, as it was based on you meeting the criteria. Whether Immigration would honour any remaining permission of stay (as they do when a Thai wife passes) would in my opinion be purely at their discretion. They could give her 7 days to leave the Country. Alternatively, if she is in the process of obtaining a court order to release your assets to her (easy if you have a Will in place) then an acting lawyer should be able to issue her a letter for Immigration to obtain a 90-day extension under section 2.26 of Immigration order 327/2557. Sorry, it brings us back to the financial aspect, which is just as much a part of the process for your wife to apply for an extension of stay based on retirement in her own right. -

The baht hasn't been particularly strong for extended periods. It is the currencies of western countries living beyond their means that have weakened against the baht. The dollar gets a temporary pass because it's the global reserve currency for now Sterling has been hid particularly hard but I can't seem to make some of my countrymen here accept that things like the 2008 financial crisis and the Brexit referendum effectively eviscerated the pound. They seem to think the "problem" is on the Thai side when there is irrefutable evidence that it's all been on ours. -

Hi ... what's your BMI if you want to share ? Also, do not think that Health Supplements are safe because they are only Vitamins, or Nutriments ... Eat organic, do Intermittent Fasting, understand how your body works, soft workout before eating, HIIT if necessary (if too much fat) ... but most of all , listen to your body, try not to ingest unnatural products, even in a box with 3 stars and a golden label... Your body will find a way. Just give him natural organic unprocessed food. Now if you are taking statins ... hum... it's time to learn. I wish you all the best. -
