Hi all, hoping you can help. My girlfriend has recently secured a teaching job in Bangkok and I'm looking to join her. I am looking to put together a business plan for me to work in Bangkok in my current role for Jones Lang LaSalle. I am therefore looking for advice on visa application, how long it takes, costs, qualification criteria for a successful application etc.

Second part is with regards tax and non domicile or thai tax and how that would impact me and Jones Lang LaSalle. Thanks for any advice.

What type of visa do you want to get? Are you going to be working? To work you need a work permit and you need to be working for a registered company to get it.

If are in the country for 180 days or more in a year you are a resident for tax purposes.

Best you post your tax questions on the business forum.

Yes, I would be looking to secure a work permit for my current company Jones Lang LaSalle, they are international and have an office in Bangkok.

It depends upon the embassy or consulate where you apply. But it should not take anymore than a few days to get the visa.
