Muay Thai school and other attractions.

Featured Replies

My son is coming to visit early September. Yay! I haven't seen him for 4 months, it's going to be great.

However.....10 days in Hat Yai might be a bit hard to fill. He's 18, and has been doing kickboxing for about a year in NZ, so I thought it might be nice experience to get some lessons, perhaps 1 or 2 days, from a genuine Thai muay instructor.

Anybody know of any school around here?

He wants to see the monkeys at Songkhla...no problem.

He wants to be photographed with an elephant....no problem. But is there somewhere I can go one step further to get him an elephant ride?

We always loved fishing together...is there somewhere nice to cast a line?

A night out with some "good" teenagers might be fun for him too. (Not being snobbish, with the "good": comment, just that he's not into drugs, drinks only moderately and I am sure is loyal to his GF...some local teens here are a bit wild.).

We;re not really the guided tour type of people, in fact not touristy at all (notwithstanding seeing monkeys and elephants).

Ideas anyone?

Cheers

Just an update FYI.

Since the cops have stopped the elephants coming into town, I asked around and there is an "Elephant Camp" in Hat Yai!

It's on the old Songkhla-Hatyai rd, about 500 m past the big Luang Phu Tuat statue (on the same side, traveling to Songkhla).

We had a half hour ride for 500 baht. each.
