Re-entry on a Multi Entry Ed Visa - No Problem at Hat Lek

Featured Replies

Just a very quick summary for those interested,

British 48 y.o.

Current Visa

Multi entry ED Visa Issued in London in May 2014, Valid till May 2015

Arrived in Suvarnabhumi Airport in May 2014, got the 3 months with no questions at all from the I/O.

Attended school for last 3 months doing the mandated 2 days x 2hrs, even started enjoying it now!

Exited via Hat Lek on the 13th August, also took my Thai registered motorbike out of the country on temp export permit. Rode around Cambodia for 10 days or so

Arrived back today at Hat Lek, stamped back in with another 3 months, no questions just a smile.

As a backup had been practicing my Thai hard, was sweating on getting a grilling by the I/O . Also had the papers from the school and more than 20k baht. None of which was required.

Before anyone asks or presumes , I DO NOT , NOR DO I INTEND TO WORK IN THAILAND.

Other visa history,

1 Multi "O", a handful of tourist visas, and a few visa except on arrivals

Thanks for your report. It is rare that an immigration officer grills a traveller with a multiple-entry non-Ed visa or re-entry permit based on an extension of stay for study, but it is known to have happened and you were clever to be prepared for that possibility.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
