Having lived in Jomtien for several years...and having a propensity for an enjoyable massage at least once per week...I can tell you from experience that at least half of the massage parlors I went to were fronts for prostitution...some girls even seemed offended if you actually told them you needed a massage first...and talk about the other later...

One soi full of massage parlors in Pattaya City specializes in oral...

Jomtien soi X has attractive young women that all specialize in oral...

So I do not believe one must go "undercover" to expose prostitution in the Pattaya...Jomtien area...

Condo massage parlor...prostitution against the rules...yet they will go to your room to give a massage...;and strip off their clothing before saying hello...

Thanks for the warning ggt........ I will be sure to keep well away from these establishments, now if I just knew the names --so I didn't make a mistake & go to an oral specialist...that would help......wub.png

Pretty hard to take police work seriously with news like this. If the spent a few weeks undercover at Panthip Plaza, they might also arrest Khun Somchai for selling a bootleg CD of Windows XP.

Here's the news I want to read then:

"Police arrests pirate DVD seller at Panthip for prostitution!

Fronting as a regular pirate software & movie stall, Khun Somchai aka "Lek" was arrested for offering illicit sexual acts beneath his sales booth. Using 25 undercover operatives blah blah blah... "

Check the date, it's collection week.

Prostitution?!? In Pattaya of all places?!? I can't believe it. Someone actually accepted money in exchange for sexual services?!?!... I am shocked SHOCKED I TELL YOU. Having lived in Pattaya for close to a year several years back the news of this just stuns me. When a good, family centered city such as Pattaya loses the innate puritanical center it was built upon we all lose out. Personally, I don't see how the city can recover from this scandal. If Pattaya ever became famous for something like this I believe it would ruin its international image. Ugh... I can't believe how upset this has made me. I think I will write a letter to the pope. sick.gif

To the innumerable posters who have written every possible version of tongue-in-cheek "OMG, prostitution in Pattaya ? I am soooo shocked"... it was funny the first 2 times, but when you reach post #50 it gets kind of repetitive...

I suppose you write your posts in the hope that they will be read ? If so then why don't you read other posts as well ?

Prostitution in Pattaya? I'm horrified and shocked.

It would be really fun to read the news one morning when undercover army agents arrest corrupt officials in the act of accepting protection money for massage shops fronting as prostitution venues.

I am truly shocked. Undercover police in Pattaya?

Someone in a massage parlour "catering to Middle eastern customers" & possibly run by shadow Middle eastern or "eastern European" proprietors refused to pay "tea" money. You would think coming from over (or up) "there", they would know the ropes.

Attn Mr Newbie P.M. Probable corruption involving police & enforcement in massage industry in Pattaya

Yawn. Fine topic for our forum members to demonstrate their impressive "insider" knowledge of Pattaya. All the usual posters have shown up: the tea money brigade, the anti-corruption patrol, the moralists, the hypocrites, the punsters, the wannabe experts, and the misinformed about the subtle legality of prostitution in Thailand.

What a revelation !!

I am truly shocked. You can understand why the authorities did not know of these immoral deeds, it is so clandestine. The investigation must have been grueling. All those late night stake-outs to catch the perps. Someone's name has to go up on the rose-wood panel in the police station for inspiration.

In other breaking news: scientists have discovered the only known incorrubtable policeman in the kingdom. One scientist disputed the claim saying he wasn't incorruptable, but rather the intellectually disabled son of a high ranking police official in the provinces. I guess only time will tell?

I agree. Someone was intellectually handicapped letting it get into the newspapers. Don't 'alf look obvious!!!!
