Also Mr. Leif Christer didn’t want to go back home because he was afraid that he might be blacklisted and wouldn’t be able to travel to Thailand again.

This is a type of psychotic thinking that affects us all during our first few trips

and then ya wake up

He's Swedish. Sweden has one of the most extensive and generous welfare systems in the world. I personally know a Swedish resident (not even a citizen) who was recently flown home from the IDC.

If this man is not insane then he must want to sleep on the street near nana plaza. After rereading the OP it appears the man has mental issues. Let's hope he gets home soon and on proper medication and into rehab.

Like many expats, addicted to alcohol & Thai female pheremones. And this isn't even a troll post or a joke. Poor unfortunate guy.

Thailand is a country you need to be a strong willed person. Make sure you control Thailand not allow Thailand, especially Pattaya, Patong etc control you.

How can you control a country?

You don't know about alcoholism and drug addiction. You can be the strongest willed person in all other areas yet be totally defenseless against that first drink or drug. If he's not an alcoholic/addict, then he's got a mental disease - NOTHING to do with strong will.

Next time you have diarrhea, try using your strong willpower to stop it and you'll get a glimpse of the tragedy of addiction/mental disease.

This could be ANY of the Thai visa members in the future.

It's a very sad story and not easy to resolve, as he himself doesn't want to be helped.

Personally I feel his government should send him back home and try to "clean" him up, mentally and phisically.

No good to send him home and abandone the man.

No good to leave him and do nothing, or to put him in jail will benifit no one

Apparently the Swedish welfare system has collapsed due to excessive immigration the Swedes say.

Sadly this is common story with Swedes! Yes it is the low cost of lubricants!

I personally know this man and he is a repeat offender and really doesn't want to go back to Sweden.

He is very obvious in his location and when I offered to have him sent back to Sweden he said he did not want to go.

So as usual the media is only telling half the truth!

Yes all Swedes are degenerate helpless alcoholics, google it...

The "extensive and generous welfare systems" does NOT apply to citizens living outside EU ! They get NO benefits whatsoever, exept if they have a good income, then they get some taxrelief.Low income persons pay ordinary tax.

I also doubt, that the Swedish government pay for a ticket home;that is not what I have heard.

Good points.

I don't think anyone who ended up homeless, addicted and suffering from mental illness ever planned to be so.

Those who make fun, joke and point fingers may be incapable of considering that they too may encounter depression, mental illness or addiction.

The death of a loved one, a catastrophic illness, financial ruin, a failed relationship, the loss of a job or conviction of a crime is often the first step towards a downward spiral.

Think,Think, Think!

God all mighty, this is like a bad script, in a C rated movie, I agree to others in here, send him home, have the Swedish Government revoke his Passport, "Blacklist" him from re-entering Thailand again, again and be done with him, don't need this type of psychotic trash in Thailand, man there are enough nuts here legally. coffee1.gif

End of story, with all the people who know him, seeing his role playing again, and again, over and over, there shouldn't be anymore discussion about him.

The definition of insane, is doing the same thing over, and over again, and expecting different results, the Thai Immigration, must be run by insane people.

^ Patsy, He will be back, no doubt !

Obviously ,........ he love Thailand as everybody else.

Thing is.... nobody know what means to be in depression state until he/she did not taste it....

We never know when it comes because we do not know about "Tomorrow" ..........hence ("don't be so cocky" anyone)

When depression .comes to you ....you are just in unpredictable state... (Usually others will treat you as "mental case" or just idiot or worse..)

Yes , it is very common nowadays to be in this type of mental state. Often it leads to alcoholism as far as they can afford to buy it...

Only people who at least try to understand his/her problem can do a little help but person in such state need professional help .

Person in depression have a " little hidden key" that can be found by others but his/her state does not encourage this person to give you hint how to help him.

My personal guess is that this hidden key is to be in Thailand which he love but huge ballast of his problems does not help him to see "the light in the tunnel" by himself.

He need a help but somehow there is no help he is counting for...

Nobody and I say ...NOBODY even really can guess what it means to be in depression ! until you taste it !

What If on the top you are alone.....???

Worst thing is that if you 'll get it then it never goes away even if you get help and you are OK ......for now.

Next time it comes quicker and stronger....and you are walking dead.

Unfortunately this is illness of 21 century and it is very new to most people who do not have time to slow down and " see that grass is growing"(really see it..)

Most of people know about depression just from the media ...

It is Easy to judge ....but is hard to understand until you will get it by yourself.

Big thanks to those who are still there in this world trying or understand this problem and specially who are helping those ill people because there is more and more of this kind of tragedy for human being every dayy

Remember ;

depressed people are waiting for help but whatever state they are now - they often need just right person to help them rise again. coffee1.gif

Why are you quoteing me? I just said he will be back.....something he already stated himself & something he has demonstrated before.

He's been living on the streets around Nana since April. No money. Overstayed his visa. His medical condition is really bad. All he wants is to go back to Sweden. He used to be a successful chef in Sweden (background checks), but after a work accident in 2008,is life seems to have gone down the drain.

A friend is now helping him (also Swedish). He put him in a hotel, gave him some clean clothes and located his belongings and passport, which a really great Pakistani guy we met last night, had taken care for him. He has also arranged escort at the airport (to follow him all the way on board the plane) once we can get finds to clear his overstay and ticket back home. 40K is needed. If any of you guys want to help, please PM me.

I'm Swedish and your story and PM you about giving money smells. According to himself, the Swedish Embassy and all the othet Swedish papers/internet forums that I have been reading, your story is wrong.

And collecting money for him, yes sure wink.png

Nearly everything in your story is wrong.....

Your post has valid points, minus the first and last sentence.

He have not been living at the Nana streets since April. I was reading an interview with him in a Swedish site a couple of days ago. He came to Thailand in May. His third trip after one in the end last year and one in January. He is divorced in Sweden with two children. And he don't like to go home..........so I agree about everything in the "morteena"story is wrong.

According to the stamps in his passport, last entry was in April. Did u see his passport as well?

A scam.................

When a grown man sits in front you and cries because he gets help and he see someone that cares it's worth it. You might have contributed to save that person's life.

The innocent girl working at a pharmacy in Nana also cried. But that was when this guy was breaking into her room, and she was inside it.

He promised my friend that he is not coming back ;) ... Only time will tell I guess.

Btw, so far the only one who has contributed with money are Thai people. Around 20,000. You can still contribute, as my good friend already paid everything out of his pocket for this guy.

What visa does he have? probably an over stayer so put him in the IDC and see how he likes that.

You have a heart of gold.

I agree, Jacky54 could bring a tear to a glass eye. Would love to get him on the old Esther Rantzen program. I'm sure the public would love this kind-hearted soul.

People like him are what life is all about... sorry, I'm welling up again ....sad.png

So what? We all have options. He chose self pity over self respect. I don't give a rat's ass what happens to him.

... one way flight to Stockholm ist less than 10000 with Norwegian .... Sweden is known as the most 'social' country in Europe, so were is the problem for the embassy?

This particular flight on this first Wednesday was 3700 SEK, or 17000 THB. I said that before in another post.. Sweden does not help their citizens outside the borders of the EU. Its not in their budget. That said, they were very happy that friend (and others that also have helped) saw it in their hearts to use their spare time and hard earned cash to help their fellow country man

Thanks for contributing with your deep insight in human psychology. Pray that you won't have a work accident, your wife and kid leaves you, and you fall into a big whole you can't get out of. I guess it was just a bad choice he made..

He's a grown man... he's not a child. He should be able to figure it out. Can you? I never mentioned any particular insight in human psychology that I have, but there you go saying it anyway. He's bum and that's that. How in your vast ethereal speculations cannot you assume that perhaps the same has happened to me?

Actually, if you knew me, as some here do, you would know that I'm a very giving and caring person & I have contributed before both financially & physically to a number of causes before.

However, despite your best efforts, I or my wife will pick and choose who We help and won't be guilted into anything based on what someone else thinks or feels, especially via a forum or a guilt trip being applied via a forum.

The way I see it mortenaa, based on what you have said, "Your buddy has already helped this guy out and everything is done and paid for". so what are you asking us to do...... help your buddy who's already helped? Maybe You would like to help me out with some of the causes that I've recently helped with?

I also hope you understand that if your chasing cash on TVF, you might like to read the forum guidelines he first and at least have the courtesy to approach admin here and seek their approval before doing so, because they have certain guidelines about this sort of thing and very good reasons for having so.

At this point, In this case, I will take a pass, perhaps you might like to help your own buddy?

That wasnt actually aimed for you, sorry about that. I wasn't aware of that I break any forum rules to help a guy off the streets.

I will of course help my buddy. I also helped in similar cases, and just a few months ago helped a Norwegian guy off the street. I hope my friend don't end up with a big burden all by himself. And I would love to help you out with a similar case.
