License plate tidy tail mod

Featured Replies

Hi guys, does anyone know if this sort of thing is legal? Seems like it would make it hard to see the plate properly.

i would very much doubt it.

That is not legal, the plate should be visible at all times.

I believe any plate modification that renders it obscured or invisible to speed-enforcement cameras is illegal.

That is more than good enough for Thailand. Doubt it will give you any problems.

Why bother to ask - you know full well it's illegal

The question should be: Will it be tolerated by police?

Leave it there and let us know how it goes

no worries, you can do it. it is visible. at least from a car.

but rambling, i am checking these guys for 500 series tail tidy.

do you know where we can get it?

thanks man.

Just to clarify, this isn't my bike, I was considering a tidy tail type of mod as the next thing but I'm still undecided what kind of setup to go for. I've seen many bikes with the plate in that exact location, just saw a few more today at a carpark. I wonder if they get any grief from police if stopped. It is visible but less than stock obviously. Generally speaking I prefer to keep things legal, not sure where this falls (hence "bothering" with the question ;-) ).

ll2, this guy does these mods: https://www.facebook.com/500EDITION?fref=ts has a few projects he's working on, saw a CB300 also, but no 650 yet. Check out his album.

yeah, that guy did not answer my messages somehow. thanks again.

Maybe language reasons? I haven't tried to contact him yet, I'll let you know of any progress. Cheers.

The pic in the OP is an extreme example. I prefer the tail tidy that places the plate closer to the tail light at the same angle, but not too close.

It is illegal but (mostly) tolerated. Same as riding on the wrong side of the road, having a broken light, old tires, ...

But its totally bad ass. A bit like riding a Harley with WW2 helmet thumbsup.gif

mine is not nearly as concealed as the one pictured in the OP and not a ride (Pattaya and surroundings) went by without attention from the police.

Received an answer back from that guy. Prices are not bad.

That's where I got my tail tidy done.

Can you post a pic? Thanks :-)

Rambling, if you get the tailtidy, you need a mudguard too in Thailand. Keep in mind.
