Lite Beer
Hua Hin to see more tourists from China BANGKOK, 29 August 2014 (NNT) - Chinese tourists reportedly have a higher tendency to travel the seaside resort of Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The provincial governor therefore encourages Thai people to provide them with a warm welcome.Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Weera Sriwatthanatrakul said more Chinese tourists would likely visit Thailand especially in Hua Hin since they started to learn more about the famous city. Mr Weera called on Thais to be friendly to Chinese tourists and not to express negative feelings toward them. China would ask its travel agents to advise Chinese tourists about Thai customs so that they knew how to conduct themselves when traveling in Thailand, the governor added.According to the governor, the Chinese consul to Thailand wants the Thai government to add the Chinese language on various signs since they are not good at English. The governor said the province would proceed with matter immediately as Chinese tourists were one of Thailand’s largest tourist groups. -- NNT 2014-08-

Popular Post apalink_thailand
So Thailand builds heaps of high end hotel properties, chases away the Europeans and replaces them with low rent Chinese tour groups who destroy the ambience of every place they hoard into. Clever. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Used to be Europeans until the scams put them off. Hope the Chinese like jet ski's.

Absolut
Was there recently, Thai's and Europeans certainly seem to be the largest groups of tourists there at the moment. If things change then that's just the changing face of tourism, but I think it will still remain a huge drawcard for Thai's and a weekend getaway from Bangkok, the numbers in our hotel swelled on Saturday. Expat Brad
For Thailand's sake I do hope that the Chinese tourists that are to come are not the same as many tour groups that were encouraged to come to Australia. Many of these were on pre-paid holidays where they stayed in Chinese owned hotels, ate in Chinese owned restaurants, Chinese owned tour companies & so on. NOT one dollar landed in Australia. I am not being racist here, just stating what happened at an economic level.
