my friend ( who is russian ) got a 30 day stamp on entry at airport. then went on a visa run and got a 60 day stay. then got an extend 30 day stamp. would he be able to go out and get a non o visa at a thai embassy.and be able to come back in ? he has all the documents he needs to get the visa plus cash 10,000 bht

Buddy, you got this so bolixed up, I don't think even ubonjoe can help you.

came in on a VISA EXEMPT stamp 30 days right?

Then went out of the country for a TOURIST VISA 60 days + 30 days right?

What reason for applying for a non-imm type O? retire? married? eluding taxes?

There is no 90 days in 6 months rule. There was one for exempt entries until about 6 years ago when it was canceled.

If he can qualify for a non-o visa he could get it without a problem.

Hi all new to this site and in need of much advice please, i am due to marry my thai fiancee next year and want to spend 6 months in thailand and 6 months uk every year, could this be possible, i will have around £100.000 and over 50 but would prefer to work 6 months in uk rather than spend all my money, i have been going to thailand 3 or 4 times a year on a 30 day tourist visa how could i extend this to 6 months, i also know getting a visa for my wife to be is not easy, she has 2 children and a steady job which her boss would allow her to work when in thailand, any advice would be great

Best option depends on if you want to stay 6 months in a row in Thailand or if you plan to stay for up to 3 months a time in Thailand.

If you were to put 800k baht in a Thai bank you could apply for a one extension of stay based upon retirement. Then get a re-entry permit for your trip back to the UK.

You could stay for the entire 6 months and not have to worry about border runs or visas. Just be here to renew your extension after one year.
