Anyone know the opening times of the friendship bridge Mukhdahan into Laos Savannakhet, and also the opening times of the office for the Laos visa on arrival?

OP - the term 'visa on arrival' is not what is used ... it is 'Exemption' of a visa allowing a stay which may only be 15 days.. could be 30 days... However, as you may know there is a Thai Consulate in Savannaket and you could easily get a Tourist Visa good for 60 days which after you are in Thailand you can extend your stay for another 30 days at a local immigration office - total 90 days ... I am not sure of the cost of the Tourist Visa but it could save you a some minor or even major hassle in the long run. Seems like it would be a lot better deal. - but up to you.

Yes thanks, But I am taking about the Visa to enter Laos not back into Thailand.

He is asking about the Lao VOA not entering Thailand with one.

They open the Lao VOA office about 8 am from recent reports. The bridge opens at 6 am.

Is Udon an error in your post. Udon is about a 4 hour bus ride to Mukdahan.

To go to Mukdahan and Savannakhet you normally fly into Nakhon Phanom.

For the bridge to Savannakhet there have been report of Lao VOA closing at 6 pm, But there have been others saying they were able to cross about 7.

Thanks ubonjoe. No Udon Thani is not the error in posting but the rest is! I have been changing the plans aroun and got myself confused.

Ok We are flying into Udon Thani arrive around 5.30PM, then we were going to cross into Lao Friendship bridge 1 Nong Khai > Vientiane (not mukdaham as I wrote in error), we will travel a bit around Vientianne and slowly make our way down to Savannakhet (for new non o) then will cross back in Thailand via friendship bridge 2 to Mukdahan. We are travelling to Udon Thani airport becasue of the direct flight from Phuket saving going through Bangkok first, so making it into a bit of a holiday.

Sorry for the confusion (can you change title to 'Visa on Arrival Nong Khai > Vientiane bridge' ?)
