On the lighter side of the news... say I wanted to do an onionesque parody of an existing thread. Would it go in the same forum as the parodied thread, or should it go in general?

I know there are April fools threads that happen every year, and those are always in the news forums. But I want to check before I drop the bomb.

I think that is quit obvious why they don't go there, because people would immediately know it's bogus

Same thread as the thing you're parodying. I've only tried it once, but it provided a lot of fun.
