Work Permit cancellation

Featured Replies

I finished a contract on 31st of August. I was on holiday in the UK when the contract ended thus my visa was not cancelled or stamped as such. My old company have obviously cancelled the WP and they emailed me a scan of a letter from DMF to give to Thai Embassy saying when my contract ended as I was applying for a 12 month multi entry nom imm O visa whilst in the UK.

I was denied the O visa and issued a 3 entry 6 month tourist visa. This was put in my 2nd passport, not the passport used for the previous B visa, as this passport is now with another Country's Embasssy for another visa.

I arrived back in Thailand yesterday with no problems.

Since then I remembered about the B Visa and the fact that I, or the visa, have not been processed / cancelled. Although obviously there is an exit stamp for when I went to the UK.

My question is should I take the passport with the B visa to immigration when I get it back or just take it that the visa is cancelled? I intend to to get a marriage extension to stay and dont want future problems.

Thanks in advance.

The extension of stay (not a visa) ended on the date you left the country so there is nothing to cancel.

On what basis were you applying for the non-o visa and what was the reason for the denial.

Thanks for your answer. For the Non Imm O 12 month multi entry. It came as a total surprise that I was denied. I have been married to a Thai National for 6yrs. I have a 3yr old son by her. I have had a Thai bank account for 3yrs and owned my condo for 5yrs and have a yellow book. There is ample money in the bank and has monthly salary inputs.

The Thai Embassy in London gave no reason just advised to get a Tourist Visa. I took the 6 month one and hope to try and sort out a marriage extension to stay from this.

I am about to start work back on a 28/28 rotation and thought that I would try and play by the rules and not use the visa exempt entry.

I put on my visa application that the reason for wanting the Non Imm is family reasons and work commitment of 28/28.

Maybe I should not have mentioned the work part.

It all seems to be as clear as mud but I hope this helps explain. ?

I assume you had your marriage certificate and signed copies of your wife's house book and ID card.

Doing a 28/28 work schedule it will be almost impossible to get an extension of stay based upon marriage.

It would be best to make a trip to Savannakhet Laos and get a multiple entry non-o.

I had all docs and signed double sided scans.

I will try for the impossible and then go to Laos for the correct visa that London denied and let you know how I get on.

In the mean time I always have the tourist visa valid for 6 months and 3 entries.

I really cant understand Londons refusal though. Maybe it was Friday and a bad hair day ?

Cheers for now.

It is odd they denied your non-o. There have been several reports of them doing them without a problem.

You will not have any problem getting one in Savannakhet. At the moment they are issuing visas on the same day they are applied for.
