Son of Ex-Pat with Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I have been living in BKK for over 3 years. I had a work permit for 1 year and like most folks in my position I get by on visa runs, and trying to get my employer to help me get a visa.

Yes, I know. That was foolish and naïve on my part.

My father has lived here for nearly 10 years and one of the reasons I came to Thailand was to spend more time with him. Is there a family angle if the family member is a permanent resident?

I have heard and or seen statements like family member visas, but nothing written in stone...palm leaves.

You could get a non-o visa to visit your father, But you would probably not get one at any nearby consulate or embassy unless you are under the age of 21 which is the cutoff age for getting an extension as your fathers dependent.
