Same day non-immigrant educational visa – Savannakhet

Featured Replies

I was told by my language school, Pro-language in Asoke, that Savannakhet in Laos can give a nonimmigrant educational visa on the same day.

I started asking about how to get there and other questions, and she then told me she didn't know, but other students have done it.

Has anybody been to Savannakhet and able to confirm this?

Also, how do you recommend getting there? I'm weighing this option against Vientiane, and will probably go with whatever option is the fastest.

The do all visas on the same day applied.

Overnight bus to Mukdahan from Morchit then bus across the bridge to Savannakhet.

Nok Air or Air Asia fly/ride service to Mukdahan via Nakhon Phanom. They will you off at the bridge but if late flight best to stay the night in Mukdahan and cross the next morning. Lao visa on arrival office closes at 6 but sometimes stay open later if busy.

You can do search on forum and find several topics about Savannakhet for those getting non-o visas for additional travel info and the city.

I had to wait the following day to pick up my visa. Faster and less people than Vientiane.

They are now doing all visas on the same day applied. Since July 1st of this year if I recall the date correctly,

That is good I got mine shortly before then, Thanks.
